The Write Stuff

Photobucket
After a long snowy trip to Missouri last week, Josiah and I hopped in a car and drove to Nashville to work on some new music. Our trip consisted of three solid days of writing and cutting demos of new songs. A little early to be preparing for the next Philmont record says you? No says I!
We worked with some Nashville based writers doing writing sessions to try and land some big-ol radio hits and I feel we came up with some cool stuff. Writing sessions are always fun and challenging. It's where we meet up with another writer and throw ideas and each other and work together to come up with a song. It's interesting to learn about other people's writing techniques and to get some fresh perspectives on our song ideas.
After a long day of writing we would head back to our buddy Matt's house and cut demos of songs we brought with us. Matt's a long time friend of the band (our very first bass player), Josiah's college roommate and newly wed Nashville-based music producer.
The trip was as productive as it was exhausting- we're planning another for early February.

Great pics Scott. Wise choice for you to start this blog. It's a little more inside perspective into your life with Philmont, which is interesting to read about. Thanks for blogging.
